The best video chats are the ones where you never doubt that you can leave. Everything on this page serves that one idea: know what to keep to yourself, know where the buttons are and know what we expect from everybody else.

If you have not yet seen the controls, how OmegaCam works shows each screen in order.

Before You Tap Start

Decide now, while nobody is asking, what you will not share with a stranger. A good starting list:

  • Your full name and anything that makes it easy to find, such as a username you use everywhere.
  • Where you live or work, including street names, your school or a landmark outside your window.
  • Documents and cards. No photos of IDs, tickets or bank cards, whatever the reason given.
  • Passwords, codes and one-time messages. Nobody on a chat site needs them.
  • Money. Do not send any, and do not accept offers that need a payment first.
  • Personal photos you would mind seeing elsewhere. Assume anything shown on camera can be recorded.

Look behind you, too. A mail envelope, a framed diploma or a view of a recognisable street can say more than you intended. The online mirror is a quick way to see what your background gives away. What we do with the information you give us is set out in the privacy policy.

A wall, a window or a pile of mail can say more than you meant to.

During a Chat: Next, Camera Off, Block, Report

  • Next. Ends the chat and finds you someone new. Use it as often as you like.
  • End the call. Leaves the chat without starting another search.
  • Camera off. Stops sending your picture while you decide how you feel. Your browser's site settings can switch the camera off completely.
  • Block. Stops that person from reaching you again.
  • Report. Tells us what happened so we can look at it.

Nobody is told why you left, and a chat that lasts thirty seconds is normal. If a conversation turns pushy, sexual when you did not ask for it, or evasive about basic things, leave first and think about it later.

OmegaCam House Rules

These are the rules every user agrees to. The wording is in the terms of service.

Please do

  • Be who you say you are.
  • Treat the person in front of you the way you would like to be treated.
  • Skip politely when a chat is not working.
  • Report behaviour that breaks these rules.

Please do not

  • Harass, threaten, stalk or discriminate against anyone.
  • Share, request or show sexual content, or anything involving minors.
  • Ask for money, run scams or advertise other services.
  • Record or share someone else's video, voice or messages without consent.
  • Use bots, scripts or a new device to get around a block.

How Reports Are Handled

When you report someone, the report tells us what happened and who it was about. We may then end the call, remove content, restrict features or block access, depending on how serious it is. We do not promise a reply to every report, and we do not share the outcome with the person who was reported or with other users.

If you could not report at the time, or something needs more explanation, write to OmegaCam support and say what happened and roughly when. If someone is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number first. We cannot send help ourselves.

Is Video Chatting With Strangers Safe?

Mostly, yes, in the same way that talking to someone at a bus stop is mostly fine. Almost everyone who opens a chat site wants a conversation. A small share want something else, and that share is the reason the habits above exist.

What keeps you safe is not luck, and it is not a feature. It is leaving quickly, keeping personal details back and never doing anything on camera that you would not want shared. OmegaCam cannot verify who anyone is, so treat what you are told with the same care as any stranger's story.

Safety Questions

Can someone record my video call?

Anyone, on any platform, can screen-record a call, so assume that what you show on camera could be saved. Do not say or do anything on a call that you would not be comfortable seeing shared.

What should I do if someone is rude or makes me uncomfortable?

Tap Next or end the call straight away, then block and report them. You do not owe an explanation or a polite goodbye.

Does OmegaCam check who I am talking to?

No. OmegaCam does not verify identities, so you cannot take for granted that what someone tells you is true. That is why the habits on this page matter more than any single button.

Who is allowed to use OmegaCam?

Adults only. You must be at least eighteen, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. If you believe a child is using the site, write to OmegaCam support at support[at]omegacam.com.

Is OmegaCam legit, or is it a scam?

OmegaCam is a webcam video chat for adults. You can try it without an account, the price of longer or premium sessions is shown before you confirm, and block and report are available during a chat. OmegaCam does not verify who you are talking to, so keep personal details private. If something looks wrong, write to support[at]omegacam.com.
